Training

Welcome to the home of lifeguard development and training for Northern Region, here you will be able to find all relevant information that you may need, whether you are an instructor, examiner, clubbie or even someone who is interested in joining the lifesaving movement.

We take great pride in the work that is done up and down our coastlines by our incredible members, and in order to have lifeguards who are highly effective at preventing, identifying and reducing injury and drowning on our beaches, training starts long before the flags go up each morning. Comprehensive training, development and retraining in a wide range of skills is critical to lifeguards being able to deliver the valuable service the public so often depend on.

Training in Northern Region is delivered through predominantly Volunteer Instructors at a club level supported by some Regional and external facilitators. Please see the links under the Training Heading of our website for some of the training opportunities available to our members.

If you can't find what you're looking for or for any other queries relating to training please email training@lifesaving.org.nz or see the contact us page for contact details of the SLSNR Staff.
