In order to have lifeguards who are highly effective at
preventing, identifying and reducing injury and drowning on the
beach starts long before the flags go up each morning.
Comprehensive training, upskilling and retraining in a wide range
of skills is critical to lifeguards being able to deliver the
valuable service the public so often depend on.
Training in Northern Region is delivered through predominantly
Volunteer Instructors at a club level supported by some Regional
and external facilitators. Please see the links under the Training
Heading of our website for some of the training oportunities
available to our members.
