Lifesaving Support Officer (LSO) x2

Are you passionate about beach safety and empowering members to prevent beach-related incidents? Surf Life Saving Northern Region is seeking two motivated and experienced surf lifeguards to join their team as a Lifesaving Support Officer (LSO). This role involves supporting local Surf Life Saving clubs and the Paid Lifeguard Service, collaborating with Club Captains to assess and enhance patrolling capabilities, assisting in key events and training exercises, and providing oversight and quality assurance to lifesaving activities. Additionally, the LSO will drive long-term patrol planning and local lifesaving initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator with a strong understanding of Surf Life Saving processes, a team player with excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, and a strategic thinker with conflict resolution abilities. They must be highly organized, time-efficient, and willing to work flexible hours, including some weekends.

There are two LSO roles available, providing support to the Auckland West Coast Beaches (Karekare to Muriwai), and the Northland Beaches (Far North to Waipū Cove, including Baylys Beach).

The roles are based from the Auckland Marine Rescue Centre, with the opportunity for the Northland LSO to work from Whangarei (with an expectation to be in Auckland on a weekly basis).
